Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Wales Victory.

The England head coach voiced his regret that the England team did not receive more encouragement from the Wembley crowd during their impressive 3-0 friendly victory on Thursday night.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his team showcase their good form, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the first 20 minutes deciding the contest. But, he was displeased with the energy at the national stadium.

“With one and a half sessions to get ready against a organized team and we did very well,” the coach stated. “It could have been five goals ahead at the break. We couldn’t score the additional ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“How much more can you give in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them get away. When you only hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team deserved better encouragement today.”

“I support this statement. We cannot do more than leading three goals up in a derby. I would have wished for a little more support in periods where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to support us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Display

Away from potentially starting a fight with supporters, the manager also created controversy by leaving out Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. But the choice was backed up by Morgan Rogers impressing again in the attacking midfield role and netting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” the head coach said. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his place.”

Bellamy Seeks Improvement from Defeat

The Wales manager hopes that Wales, who face a strong Belgian side in a important World Cup qualifier on Monday, learn from their awful performance in the opening period.

“This is why I scheduled this game,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess our current level. What are our ambitions? Who do we want to be? This performance fills me with drive.”

Injury Concern for Striker

Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after colliding with a post and is a concern when the national team play Latvia in Riga in a qualifier on next week.
