Three Lions Team Selection Announced: Jude and Foden Omitted, Bukayo Returns

The England manager has chosen to retain the same England squad that triumphed against their previous opponents and produced a stellar display in Serbia during the previous international break, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and Phil Foden in his group for the forthcoming friendly against the Welsh side and the World Cup qualifier in the Baltic nation.

Despite Phil Foden pushing for a recall after regaining his top condition at Manchester City, and Jude Bellingham having made a comeback for his Spanish club following a surgical procedure, the national team manager has decided against including two of the country's most prominent offensive stars. Bellingham has been in the starting lineup just a single time for his team since his return.

Tuchel has made room for Bukayo Saka, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his injured Arsenal teammate Noni Madueke. The experienced attacker has not been handed a recall.

Tuchel highlighted the vibrancy in the previous selection and seems intent on maintaining the vibe. Tino Livramento, who started at the defensive flank in the 5-0 win in Serbia, has dropped out due to a knee injury. Tuchel has opted against selecting a like-for-like substitute for the Magpies star but has selected the Manchester City defender, who had to pull out last month. He has discussed the centre-back's importance for the national team and has suggested using him in midfield.

There is no place for the midfielder, who was called up last month but pulled out due to injury and was substituted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The manager stated: “A mere three weeks since the previous gathering and the most recent victory, the last performance, so the question was why not select the same group in because they established a benchmark. Now it is about creating habits out of it. We have unfortunately a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Livramento and Noni and we bring of course the Arsenal forward in to replace Madueke. The defender was a last-minute addition previously; he will remain with the squad.”
